Tak wiec juz w tej edycji Pucharu Uefa raczej nie zobaczymy NikoliWisla Kraków defender Nikola Mijailović has been banned by UEFA for five UEFA club competition matches for racial abuse of Blackburn Rovers FC striker Benni McCarthy.
UEFA investigation
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body handed down the ban on Thursday, after an investigation following last Thursday's UEFA Cup group stage game between the two clubs in Poland, which Blackburn won 2-1.
Official complaint
UEFA launched the inquiry on the basis of an official complaint submitted by Blackburn, as well as on the basis of an additional report submitted by the match referee. The UEFA disciplinary body, in reaching its decision, repeated its view that racism not only constituted a serious breach of the fair play principle, but also presented a serious threat to sport and its ethical values. Mijailović, 24, has until 24.00CET on Monday 30 October to appeal against the decision.
