Zlatan demands: Buy new players or I will leave

In meeting with Galliani - Milan do everything to calm Ibra down.

"Buy new players or I will leave." That's the message from Zlatan to Galliani and the Milan board.

Now they do everything to calm him down. "I have returned as president of Milan to make us win again", Silvio Berlusconi says.

The disappoinment was huge at Milanello and the Milan offices at Via Turati the day after losing the league to Juventus.

The players have two days off, but the executives and press office worked hard on Monday.

Zlatan's words after the game and his open disappointment were quoted everywhere, and Aftonbladet's interview with him was broadcast on Mediaset and Sky Italia.

Vice President Adriano Galliani immediately went to the press and said: "I will comfort Ibrahimovic. He will see that our project continues."

According to Aftonbladet sources in Milan, Ibra has already has a talk with Galliani in which the Swedish star made it very clear that Milan have to invest much more - or else he will leave the club. Galliani, who so far has had a very good and close relationship with Ibra, tried to calm him down.

"I really like it here and I want to stay, but everything depends on what the club want", Ibra told Aftonbladet after the game on Sunday.

Galliani's answer to media yesterday was: "We already have two world class players to build the team around; Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They won't let them go. They, like some others will stay. And there will be new players-"

Milan's board and directors know that José Mourinho is courting Zlatan and that his agent, Mino Raiola has started turning, and is more positive about a move.

A Milan contact says "At the same time we know that Ibra wants to be number one, and he won't be that in Madrid or Spain. Here in Milan and Italy he is the biggest there is."

At the same time, Milan's owner, and Italy's former prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, is in Russia to meet with president Putin. Yesterday, from Moscow, Berlusconi tried to calm Zlatan down, as well as sponsors, but said only in vague words that Milan will make a big effort and that he will spend more time with the club. "We are here to win. I have returned as president of the club, and I have done so for us to play a big role", Berlusconi told Italian ANSA and continued: "Milan continues its big project. We won the league last year, came second this year and to the Champions League quarter final. Next season we start over and Champions League is the focus."

Milan > zawodnicy.
