EG: Who needs - will find me even on vacations. You did find me, didn't you? And generally all this fuss and speculations regarding Honda are quite pestersome. We were waiting when the Italian side will understand this, reach the proper conclusions and finally stop. Alas, it is not happening. Meanwhile, we already, three weeks ago, stated our position clearly: the player will not be sold to Milan. Not for 5 millions, not for 10. Period.
CSKA is ready to let the players move to the European top clubs, there were many examples of this. But there are some ethical rules of negotiations. Our club will not tolerate a disrespectful attitude.
MK: How it was expressed?
EG: For example Milan had first contacted Honda at the beginning of the year, when they had not the rights to do so. We had repeatedly warned the Italian agents who contacted us in the last one and half year that we are ready for the constructive dialogue but if they are thinking that few months before the contract expiration we will falter - they are wrong. At the end at the July 1 the Italians proposed us the exchange of Honda for the loan of some player from the Milan reserves. What could be the our reaction, what you think? Also later Italians tried to get Honda by very exotic means.
We might well to meet halfway and agree the deal - if Milan acted civilized - send the offer in a timely manner and not trying to blackmail CSKA with the agents and provoke the player himself for a conflict.
MK: What Honda himself thinks about the matter?
EG: He is aware of the situation, do not have any questions. It is known that CSKA is ready to consider the players wishes and the recent story with Vagner [Love] was another proof. But the basic principles of the negotiations have to be followed and the club be respected.
